Dabur's Q1 results: 11% rise in revenue and a 3.52% increase in net profit
On August 3, Dabur India Ltd. announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 456.61 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, up 3.52% from Rs 441.06 crore in the same quarter last year.
In comparison to the previous quarter's profits of Rs 292.76 crore, the profit was up 55.9%.
According to the company's regulatory filing, revenue increased from Rs 2,822.43 crore in the same period last year to Rs 3,130.47 crore, or 10.91%. Sequentially, the revenue increased/decreased by 16.9%.
EBITDA, increased by 11.2% to Rs 604.7 crore. The EBITDA margin was 19.3%, which was identical to the same period last year.
Dabur's OTC business reported a 24.3% gain during the quarter, driven by rising demand for our primary cough and cold brand, Honitus. While the Home Care business reported a 14.5% increase, the Digestive business reported a 14.3 percent increase. While the Hair Care portfolio had a growth of about 10% during the quarter, the Oral Care portfolio grew by 12.7%. Although the Foods business had a 35% increase, the unseasonal rains had an effect on the Beverages portfolio.
Dabur increased its share in the Hair Oils category by 200 bps to close the quarter at 17.4%, which was a record high. Dabur Red Paste increased its market share by 50 bps, taking the total market share for toothpaste to 16.9%. Odomos increased by 340 bps, increasing our market share in the category of insect repellents to 58.9%. A 320-bps increase in Chyawanprash market share was also announced by Dabur.
