Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited was originally incorporated as a Private Limited Company under the Companies on April 19, 2002 as Multi Commodity Exchange of India Private Limited.
- Subsequently, the Company converted into a Public Limited Company and consequently, the name changed to Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited on May 16, 2002. The Company is an affiliate member of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which is an international body that brings together the world's securities regulators and is recognized as the global standard setter for the securities sector.
