Gujarat Gas Limited was erstwhile incorporated as 'GSPC Distribution Networks Limited' on December 21, 2012.
The name of the Company was then changed to Gujarat Gas Limited on 21 February 2012 and is presently engaged in Natural Gas Business in India.
Gujarat Gas Limited is India's largest city gas distribution player with presence spread across 44 districts in the State of Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Thane GA which includes Palghar district of Maharashtra.
The company has around 39,370 km of natural gas pipeline network.
It has 808 CNG stations with over 21 lakhs households and over 4390 industrial customers.
In October 2012, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) announced that it had signed definitive agreement for acquiring 65.12% equity stake in Gujarat Gas Company Limited (GGCL) from London-based British Gas Group through Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL).
About Petronet LNG Ltd
Petronet LNG Limited (PLL), one of the fastest growing world-class companies in the Indian energy sector, has set up the country's first LNG receiving and regasification terminal at Dahej, Gujarat, and another terminal at Kochi, Kerala aggregating to 22.5 MMTPA. While the Dahej Terminal has a nominal capacity of 17.5 MMTPA, the Kochi Terminal has a capacity of 5 MMTPA. Petronet's Terminals today account for around 34% gas supplies in the country and handle around 74% of LNG imports in India.
