- Promoted by K C Lakhani, P D Lakhani and J C Arora, LIL belongs to the Lakhani group.
- It manufactures and markets shoes and chappals. In Jun.'95, LIL came out with a public issue of 38.4 lac equity shares at a premium of Rs 110, aggregating Rs 46.08 cr, to part-finance the expansion-cum-modernisation of its non-leather shoe unit from 30 lac to 61.65 lac pairs pa at Faridabad, Haryana, and its diversification into the manufacture of 3 lac pairs of leather shoes. The other companies in the Lakhani group are Lakhani Rubber Udyog, Lakhani Footwear, Lakhani Shoe Company, Lakhani Shoes, etc.
