About DCM Shriram Ltd

DCM Shriram Limited was initially established as 'DCM Shriram Consolidated Limited' on February 6, 1989 when DCM Limited was restructured into four separate companies.
The Company took over one third of the businesses of DCM Ltd by merging, Shriram Fertilizer & Chemicals, Shriram Cement Works, Seatantra Bharat Mills and DCM Silk Mills.
The name of the Company was changed from DCM Shriram Consolidated Limited to DCM Shriram Limited w.e.f. 21st February 2014. DCM Shriram is a diversified company with business in agri, chemicals, plastics, cement, textiles and energy services.
They are having two broad operational thrusts namely, the energy intensive businesses that include chloro-vinyl chain and cement and the agri-businesses that cover urea, sugar, hybrid seeds and agri-merchandised inputs.

Prashant India Limited was initially incorporated as 'Prashant Proteins Limited' in November, 1983.
The name of the Company was changed from 'Prashant Proteins Limited' to 'Prashant India Limited' in 1995.
Company is presently engaged in Textiles and Wind Power Generation business. In Mar.'84, PIL took over a sick and shut-down unit from Ulhas Oil and Chemical Industries located at Bhavnagar and turned it around in the first year of operations.
To finance the expansion-and-modernization scheme, PIL came out with a public issue in Nov.'85.
Between 1986 and 1988, when Gujarat was in the grip of a severe drought, the company not only survived but even managed to perform well. In Dec.'93, the company came out with a rights offer to finance its additional working capital requirements and to expand its infrastructure facilities for the international merchandise division.
