About Cheviot Company Ltd

Cheviot Company Limited was incorporated on December 27, 1897 with the name Delta Jute Mills Company Limited.
In September 1976, the company name was changed to Cheviot Company Limited.
The company manufactures and exports jute yarns and fabrics in India and internationally.
The Company is renowned for manufacturing superior quality Hessian fabrics for export market at the Export Oriented Unit situated at Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal, India. They operate two business segments, namely Jute goods and Captive power generation.
Their jute products include sacking bags, sacking cloth, hessian cloth and bags and decorative fabrics. In May 1967, Budge Budge Jute Mills Company and Cheviot Jute Mills Company were amalgamated with the company and subsequently In January 1968, the company was renamed as Budge Budge Amalgamated Mills Ltd.

About Sri Nachammai Cotton Mills Ltd

Sri Nachammai Cotton Mills Limited (SNCM) was incorporated in March 1980 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Jawahar Mills Limited.
The assets of the Chettinad Unit of the Jawahar Mills Limited, was transferred to the Holding Company in May 1980.
A Transfer Deed for the above transfer was registered in March 1982.
It ceased to be a subsidiary of The Jawahar Mills Limited with the allotment of the said 46,000 shares on 9.8.1982. In September 1984, the Company issued 50,000 equity shares of Rs.10/- each for cash at par to the existing shareholders as Right Shares.
Since then, the Company has made five Bonus Issues. The Company's spinning mills are situated at Chettinad, Sivaganga District.
