DCM Shriram Industries Ltd (DSIL), a part of DCM Shriram group, promoted by Bansi Dhar, is a diversified group with operations in Sugar, Alcohol, Co-generation of Power, Organic and Inorganic Chemicals, Drug Intermediates, Rayon Tyrecord, Shipping Containers and processed cotton yarn, Industrial Fibres and Engineering Projects related to Defence production. Daurala Sugar Complex, situated at Daurala comprises of a cane sugar plant, distillery with a capacity of 10000 cane crushing per day and an aromatic chemicals unit.
Shriram Rayons, situated at Kota comprises rayon tyrecord/yarn/fabric and nylon chafer/fabric plants with capacity of 16200.
Daurala Organics, manufactures new generation drug intermediates. DSIL has promoted DCM Hyundai Ltd to manufacture marine freight containers at Pollivakkam near Chennai and also Daurala Foods & Beverages Pvt ltd.

Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited was initially incorporated in December 1996 as 'SPB Sugars and Chemicals Limited' and later on changed the name to 'Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited' in 2000.
Company is the brainchild of late S Viswanathan, affectionately referred to as SV by his friends & associates, a renowned industrialist of the South.
It has a sugar factory at Erode having a capacity to crush 3500 tons of sugarcane per day and generate 19 MW of power. The Company is an offspring of Ponni Sugars and Chemicals Ltd (PSCL) under a Demerger Scheme sanctioned by the Hon'ble High Court of Madras on 10th September 2001.
The Erode Sugar Mill Undertaking of erstwhile Ponni Sugars and Chemicals Ltd was transferred to Company through the Scheme of Arrangement in 2001, which became effective from April 01, 1999.
