About Fiberweb (India) Ltd
Fiberweb (India) Limited, formerly known PVD Plast Mould Industries Limited was incorporated on 22 October, 1985.
The Company was initially promoted by the Kanakia family and thereafter Pravin V Sheth and Sudhir V Sheth joined the promoters.
The name of the Company was was thereafter changed from PVD Plast Mould Industries Limited to Fiberweb (India) Limited on 26th June, 2004.
Prior to this, Company was engaged in manufacturing and exporting of injection Moulded, Blow Moulded and Roto Moulded products on German machinery along with the Garbage bags and Carrier bags.
With the growing global demand for non-woven fabrics and to de-risk the existing business model, Fiberweb decided to diversify into the non-woven business in early 90's.
Originally starting as a plastics manufacturer, Company now specializes in spun bond and melt-blown fabrics, supplying major markets in the USA, Europe, and Australia.
About Ruby Mills Ltd
The Ruby Mills Limited (TRML), incorporated in 1917, is a composite Textile Mill engaged in manufacture of Cotton/Blended Yarn and Fabric.
It has 3 plants at Mumbai, Village Dhamni & Village Kharsundi, at Khopoli, Taluka Khalapur, Dist.
Raigad.
The Company's entire Spinning & Weaving plants are at Village Dhamni and fabric processing activity at Mumbai which is being shifted at Village Kharsundi, Khopoli.
Ruby Impex is the wholly owned subsidiary of the company.
The operational performance of the company in 1994-95 was adversely affected on account of the steep increase in the prices of polyester staple fibre (PSF) (which increased by 22%), viscose staple fibre (VSF) (by 41%) and cotton (by 60%).
