About Ponni Sugars (Erode) Ltd

Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited was initially incorporated in December 1996 as 'SPB Sugars and Chemicals Limited' and later on changed the name to 'Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited' in 2000.
Company is the brainchild of late S Viswanathan, affectionately referred to as SV by his friends & associates, a renowned industrialist of the South.
It has a sugar factory at Erode having a capacity to crush 3500 tons of sugarcane per day and generate 19 MW of power. The Company is an offspring of Ponni Sugars and Chemicals Ltd (PSCL) under a Demerger Scheme sanctioned by the Hon'ble High Court of Madras on 10th September 2001.
The Erode Sugar Mill Undertaking of erstwhile Ponni Sugars and Chemicals Ltd was transferred to Company through the Scheme of Arrangement in 2001, which became effective from April 01, 1999.

About Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd

Incorporated on 13 December, 1985, Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Limited was promoted by the Late G. Varadraj of the Coimbatore-based P S G family.
The Company manufactures and markets white crystal sugar and industrial alcohol with installed capacities of 6000 tons per day and 45 KL/day respectively.
The Company is engaged in three segments, Sugar, Cogeneration and Distillery. Industrial alcohol is the raw material for a number of chemicals like acetic acid, acetic anhydride, butanol, ethyl acetate, poly vinyl alcohol and vinyl acetate.
The company came out with a rights issue in Nov.'92 to part-finance the alcohol project. In 1995-96, the company implemented a co-generation system with an installed capacity of 12 MW and with an additional 3 MW as standby.
The company has also been exploring various options in the sugar and allied industries in both areas within the country and overseas.
