About Samtel (India) Ltd

Incorporated on 29 June, 1981, Samtel (India) Limited was promoted by Satish K Kaura, who also has interests in Samtel Color, Gorawara Electronics, Samcor Glass, etc.
The Company was into the manufacturing picture tubes for black & white television.
However, due to change in technology and advent of new age televisions the business of the Company suffered losses and closed all its manufacturing units. In Jul.'94, the company came out with a rights issue of 15% secured PCDs, aggregating Rs 8.58 cr, to raise resources to meet capital expenditure, to develop a deflection yoke for flat colour picture tubes, to repay a part of the term loans and to augment long-term working capital. Samtel is one of the largest manufacturers of B&W TV picture tubes and monitor tubes in India.
It exports picture tubes to Asian and European countries and the US.

About Spel Semiconductor Ltd

Spel Semiconductor Limited, earlier known as Spic Electronics and Systems Limited was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in December, 1984.
Thereafter, it was converted into a Public Company and the name of the Company was changed to Spel Semiconductor Limited in 2000.
The Company is presently promoted by Natronix Semiconductor Technology Private Limited, Singapore.
SSL went public in Aug.'88 to part-finance the cost of setting up a sophisticated electronic project for manufacture of computer tapes, diskettes, jumbo rolls and integrated circuits. SPEL is India's 1st and only semiconductor IC (Integrated Circuit) Assembly & Test facility based in Chennai.
The Company added 56 pin and 80 pin ICs.
