About Terai Tea Co Ltd

Incorporated on 25 September, 1973, Terai Tea Company Limited went public in November, 1994 and was promoted by Ajit Kumar Agarwala.
The Company is the flagship Company of Terai Group of Companies.
The Company is primarily engaged in production, distribution and trading of tea and other agricultural merchandise. The Company incorporated in 1973 was having only one tea estate namely Bagdogra Tea Estate with an installed capacity of 5 lacs kgs of made tea per annum.
At present, the Group under the able and dynamic leadership of Dr Ajit Kumar Agarwala is the owner of seven tea gardens and five Bought Leaf Factories with a combined annual capacity of 15 Million kgs of made tea.
The units of the Group are scattered all over North Bengal around the town of Siliguri. The Company had popular brands namely Terai King' Terai Queen', Terai Rungneet' , Terai Monarch' Terai Maharaja' Terai Snow view' all over Russia.

About Vinyl Chemicals (I) Ltd

Incorporated in 1986, Vinyl Chemicals (I) Limited is dealing in chemicals, mainly Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM).
It was promoted by the Parekh Group - a well-known group which manufactures and sells the Fevicol brand of adhesives, synthetic resins, binders, surfactants, pigments, etc - and SICOM, a Government of Maharashtra enterprise.
The Company is engaged mainly in trading of Vinyl Acetate Monomer. Uhde Gmbh, Germany, (a subsidiary of Hoechst) has provided the technology for manufacturing Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM).
Apart from providing technology the German collaborator provided basic engineering services and trained personnel for erection and start-up activities. This is the first company to manufacture VAM directly from petrochemical ethylene.
VAM is a versatile petrochemical used in the manufacture of polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alchohol, ethylene vinyl acetate co-polymers, vinyl acrylic co-polymers, acrylic fibers, etc.
