Univa Foods Limited was formerly incorporated as 'Hotel Rugby Limited' in September, 1991, which subsequently changed to 'Univa Foods Limited' in June, 2022.
The Company is engaged in the business of Hotel Chain and allied services to its client.
The Company went public in 1993.
The company was promoted by Mrs Darshana Mahendra Thacker, which runs hotels, provides catering services to private clubs and to various marriage receptions / parties and makes and markets Indian sweets and savouries. In Oct.'94, the company came out with a public issue to construct, equipping and furnishing of the hotel at Matheran and one three star hotel at Pune and to renovate the existing Rugby Hotel at Matheran. The project for construction of a Time Share Resort at Matheran not completed due to various factors.

About Velan Hotels Ltd

Incorporated as a Private limited company in March, 1990, Velan Hotels Limited (VHL) was converted into a Public limited company in Jun.'92.
It was promoted by Shri E.V. Muthukumara Ramalingam and his Associates.
The Company operate two hotels and four stand-alone restaurants and is presently engaged in the business of providing Hospitality Services including running restaurants with a bar for their Chain of Hotels. VHL had set up Hotel Greenfields in South Tirupur, Tamilnadu, at an estimated cost of Rs 5 Crore and commence commercial operations by Oct.'92.
Due to certain unavoidable reasons, the project was delayed and there was cost and time overrun.
The hotel commenced partial operations in Jul.'93.
