BEL shares increase by 3.5% on positive Q1 earnings

After reporting a 23% (YoY) increase in net profit at Rs 530.84 crore for the June quarter, state-owned aerospace and defense electronics manufacturer Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) saw a 3.5% increase on July 28.

Profit after tax for the same period previous year was Rs. 431.49 crore. Operating revenue increased to Rs 3,446.69 crore from Rs 3,063.58 crore in the same period last year.

The EBITDA margin increased to 18.9% from 16.5% in the same quarter last year due to a drop in the cost of commodities consumed and stock-in-trade consumption.
