Procter & Gamble India to invest Rs 2,000 crore manufacturing unit in Gujarat
Procter & Gamble India on Thursday revealed its intention to invest Rs 2,000 crore for a personal healthcare manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India.
The newly announced facility, spanning an area of 50,000 square meters in Sanand, Gujarat, will focus on the production of digestive products from P&G's global healthcare product portfolio.
P&G India said this investment was announced by P&G India CEO LV Vaidyanathan in a meeting with Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, which will help create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, thereby offering a significant boost to the local economy.
US-based consumer goods major P&G said that the facility will commence operations in the coming years and will serve as a prominent export hub for P&G worldwide. It is important to note that the investment will be made through an unlisted company and will have no impact on any publicly listed companies within the P&G group in India.
