- It was converted into Public Limited Company dated April 12, 1984 and the name of the Company was changed to Mercator Limited vide ROC approval dated November 22, 2011.
- The Company is an established player in the marine transportation industry and the second largest private sector shipping company in India. The Company also has presence in the Oil & Gas Offshore business through its subsidiaries.
